Dr. John L. Buttler graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, and from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He performed his Pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Returning to Birmingham in 1987, Dr. Buttler began Growing Up Pediatrics just two years later. A resident of Birmingham, Dr. Buttler and his wife have 2 children. He is active in the Magic City Performing Arts for Children as Music Director and orchestra conductor. He also performs in a gospel/bluegrass band and has performed in numerous barbershop quartets and choruses. Dr. Buttler enjoys fishing in his spare time.

Dr. Annette Cosgrove graduated from Emory University in Atlanta with a Bachelor's in Psychology. A graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, she did her internship and residency there as well in a combined internal medicine/pediatric program. She was a part of the Charity Hospital Pediatric Emergency Room staff in New Orleans before joining Growing Up Pediatrics in 1998. Living in Pelham with her husband and 2 children, Dr. Cosgrove enjoys traveling and playing tennis. Her tennis team has won the state championship in Mobile two years in a row. She has participated in medical mission trips to Kenya and Papau, New Guinea in the past. Dr. Cosgrove enjoys singing in her church choir. |

Dr. Tracy Brookings earned her undergraduate degree, Cum Launde, from Birmingham Southern College and her MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Brookings, her husband Michael and son George live in Vestavia. |

Dr. Hernan Moreno was awarded his Bachelor of Science from Berchmans College in Cali, Columbia and his MD from Universidad del Valle School of Medicine, also in Cali. He completed internships and residencies both at University Hospital in Cali and at The Children's Hospital of Alabama. Dr. Moreno finished his Fellowhip in Pediatric Hematology at the Children's Hospital Research Foundation in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has served the Pediatric community in a variety of positions including Director of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Chief of Pediatrics at Norwood Clinic and most recently as founder and President of Gardendale Pediatrics. He joined Growing Up Pediatrics, P.C. in October of 2005. Dr. Moreno and his wife have three grown sons and reside inVestavia. |
